forgiveness promises no less than the present moment, a true awareness that here, right now, the past doesn’t exist at all aside from the thoughts that continuously draw us back. Lesson 122 of A Course in Miracles tells us that forgiveness offers everything we want, delivering peace, joy, and a sure spiritual awakening. We don’t forgive as any sort of action, it’s only an acknowledgement of every moment’s innocence, repeatedly, until we finally find ourselves in the joy of this awareness.
